I've chased this bug a bit, but I don't understand fonts well enough to fix it.
In a footnote, hitting "Ctrl-E" causes the textcolor and size to be set as well. These are the color and size defined for the InsetLayout, but for some reason those are being picked up also as the output font parameters.
