+ Conceptually the same as different bind-files.
+ Less discussions.

- Documentation effort
- User Support
- Non-uniform appearance of LyX accross platforms
- More ui-file-versions to take care of
- Integration in binary-build-processes needed

I think you got the main points. I'm myself still undecided. The irritations on the user list when different menu structures are used is an issue, though.

Just a quick reminder that we don't have to choose one thing forever. If we wanted to provide a "Mac" .ui file that people on Mac could choose to use, then we could do that. Aren't there specific such files for some Mac entities anyway?
