I applied your patch, and I get 2 error messages that pop up in separate
dialogs:
/tmp/lyx_tmpdir9230Opnefm/9230IFNTKl ended unexpectedly, which
means that it is probably corrupted.
Unknown token: \ \begin_inset space \space{}
(Note the space between the backslashes in the second error message.)
