So your understanding is that as long as users can locate these files
easily, it is good to do so?

No, this is not implementation details. My approach disallows, and
Richard's approach allows, direct edition of embedded/bundled files.
This would lead to quite different user experience. My approach spares
the users of any such troubles by providing the ability to use
external files.
