        let us calm down. :-)

  Uwe has made an honest effort to follow the rules, and although we have not 
officially released an alpha version we have done it in the sense that we (I) 
have tagged the release in svn.

  Alpha releases are not usually advertised in the users lists and people in 
the devel certainly know how to compile from svn.

  So an alpha version for windows clearly stating the alpha status was not 
adverse to the development.

  With that said in the beta release let us go synchronize the binary releases 
between the different platforms. OK?

PS: Unless someone is opposed, I intend that the next release be the first
