It is useful in some cases - when you use these shortcuts but
occationally forgets one.
I sometimes read this when using the lesser-used paragraph types
available with ALT-P.
I also find them somewhat useful at times, but I agree it could be

Maybe if each character had a tool-tip, e.g. "insert-ellipsis"?
Interesting idea, but I think it would require mousing in the middle of
a key combination. There are at least a few users who apparently try to
keep their hands on the keyboard (judging by posts on the user list).
What about Alt-M (or whatever) followed by ? to pop up a list of options
in a dialog (well, monologue) window?
