The LyX community has for a long time felt that the old site needed a
major overhaul. And now, the [[new LyX web site-> http://www.lyx.org]] is
finally live and redesigned in what we hope is a cleaner and more useful
design.
!!!! Redesigning the web site
The design and implementation of the new site went quite quickly and
smoothly thanks to the contribution of several people, of which we
especially wishes to thank Rex C. Eastbourne for getting all going.
Rex is new a LyX developers and he felt that re-designing the web site
would be a good way to start contributing. He then solicited the help of
his web designer friend Andrei, which inspired a competitive streak in
Joost Verbug (an old LyX developer)... Then things went really quickly and
Christian Ridderström who implemented the backend of the could barely keep
up with the changes. Most of the details of these events can be found in
the users' and the developers' mailing lists.
Finally we also wish to acknowlegde the many LyX users and developers that
contributed with opinions about the structure and design of the new site.
