Do we want to keep a copy of the old www.lyx.org? Or maybe just a

Would be nice, for nostalgia's sake.
One thing I keep remembering as I walk to work and then forget any time
I get near a computer is this admonition from Tim Berners-Lee, "Cool
URIs don't change": http://www.w3.org/Provider/Style/URI.html
It would be nice if you could map the URIs for the old pages to the
equivalent in the revamp...
At first I didn't understand you, but now I think I do. We could try and
place the old web site in
http://www.lyx.org/old/...
then we want to make e.g.
http://www.lyx.org/mailing.php
do a browser redirect to
http://www.lyx.org/MailingLists
Is this what you meant?
The above involves several steps:
* Porting the old web site to http://www.lyx.org/old/, including
moving the directory with images etc.
* Creating a redirection mechanism for the old pages.
* Make sure that a page such as
http://www.lyx.org/MailingLists
doesn't change its name. For this reason, perhaps we should hold
back a little to make sure that the new structure is stable.
None of if it is very difficult, but also not a priority at the moment
IMHO.
