I hope that I finally found the problem:
The German UserGuide uses, in contrary to the other UserGuides, the LaTeX-package "caption". But 2
of the recently released caption versions were buggy. I contacted the package author and now the
latest version of caption from CTAN works correctly.
Nevertheless, I'll remove the caption package from the German UserGuide as it is not necessary
there. Could you please anyway check out if it works for you with LyX 1.5.3 when you delete the
preamble line:
\usepackage[labelfont={bf,sf}, tableposition=top]{caption}[2004/07/16]
