Maybe because it is started but the window has a size of zero.

I think the correct syntax is: lyx -geometry 600x400+100+100 (100,100) is the top left coordinate.
In which configuration file is the geometry of the last lyx-session stored? I don't want to reinstall lyx, just because of that...
It should be in one of those: $HOME/.config/TheLyXCommunity/LyX $HOME/.config/TheLyXCommunity.conf or: /etc/xdg/TheLyXCommunity/LyX /etc/xdg/TheLyXCommunity.conf Abdel.
