Oops? I thought I had stumbled upon a typo. So it is better not to
apply my patch, in case it breaks other things. Nothing at first
sight, but who knows.

That sounds a good solution. I used to specify the dictionnary
before running the spellchecker.
Another would be dissociating LaTeX language name and dictionnary
name. That's harder, I guess.
