this is kind of bad timing: Paul Rubin also reworked the AMS classes completely (and fixed some of the bugs you mentioned). The result is included in LyX 1.5.2 which will be released tomorrow. Maybe you can have a look at the changes and report back any renmaining problems. Normally, sections and such should be translated by LyX's i18n-mechanism. However, the Polish translation is not complete. You might contact the translator and help him proceeding. Have a look here: http://www.lyx.org/devel/i18n.php Having said this, there's an exception: In the AMS classes, some environment names (like corrollary and theorems) are hardcoded and need translation.
