Did you read the links I posted earlier? The subject is exactly the
features that are useful because we know people using them.

But we have had that for ages in the dialog form. This is how LyX
always worked. You main point, as I see it, is that keeping a dialog
open is not convenient in fullscreen mode. I understand this problem,
but I do not think your solution is the right one. And I do not think
we should change the way non-maximization people work because of the
problems of the maximization people.

Maybe have all buttons off when the alignment is to default.

I'd appreciate if you could revert the docking part indeed. We should
however continue to think about what to do to please everybody.

It depends what you mean by forbid. I think docking has its uses.
