I have been busy and did not had much to develop in LyX but here are
some of
my thoughts on the subject of compression.
I don't care so much if we drop the feature of reading compress files
with
lyx as long as the program deals with lyx.gz files. This should satisfy
Jean-Marc since non embedded files will be standard text and it will keep me
satisfied since lyx retains the ability to work with compressed files.
Any objection?
