Either that, or you indeed keep a separate file, but I agree that the latter would be confusing. > What do you think? I do not think that it should be possible to add arbitrary files manually. LyX is a writing tool, not an archiver. The .layout and .cls files would be the only ones needing a setting in the .lyx file. If you have special sources for figures etc. create an external template. Then they will be added through the normal mechanism. Georg
