There's a very general solution to this: Write the ENTIRE layout to a
single file and them embed that. This is not hard conceptually. It just
needs the work to be done. The only thing you really need is a
TextClass:write() routine that will call some (also new) Layout::write()
routines. This would be even better if there were a
\begin_layout--\end_layout section in the LyX file itself. I have a
longish-term plan to implement this kind of thing: a GUI like the
preamble gui, but for layout. But I'd be thrilled to see someone else
jump forward to do this, as I have a lot of things higher on my list
(most of which have to do with BibLaTeX).If someone DID want to jump in
here, I could give a very complete outline....
