Yes, but I suspect this or a similar bug to be implicated in all cases of excessive slowness. More precisely: X configuration enables DRI, but the hardware (or the video set-up in general) is not actually able to do DRI. Then LyX (or whatever software layer underneath) falls back to "something" that is horribly slow. - Martin
