As already pointed out, it may be a sign of a glibc2.0 xforms used on
a glibc2.1 system.

You are right, the minibuffer seems a bit broken. Testing with 1.1.5,
I see that it was already the case back then. Definitely something we
should fix.
Lars, could it be related to your scrollbar work?
