I guess it is no wonder why I stay away from lyx-devel. I can not open
my mouth without being accused of being anti-pragmatic, sitting in my
ivory tower etc.

Are you just unable to take the broader discussion
first, before going to the most pragmatic approach?
Problem is (as I understand) that the broader discussion most often
ends-up blocking the evolution. For me, it is clear that debug.[Ch]
should go to support. Even though there's some lyx-related constant
definitions in there, this thing is clearly _independent_ from the rest
of LyX. I just don't understand why we make our lives complicated by
maintaining three different versions of the same thing.
