Please, can you wait with this patch? Before you commit it I would like
to see resolved the bug introduced by 17625 and 17626 by reverting these
changesets because 1) they introduced a bug and 2) they don't do what
advertised, rather the contrary. I checked this both on Windows (with
Qt4.1.4 and Qt4.2.2) and Solaris (with Qt4.2.2). See the attached images.
How about this: I'll revert to pre-17625 on my system and produce a
modified MarginsUi.ui on the basis of the old one.
I'd say just revert Uwe's change now and commit your version afterwards...
The changes I need to
make can easily be made in the .ui file itself, not using QtDesigner.
That ought to give us something workable.
IMHO, don't waste your time on patching the ui file by hand. Nobody
reads the ui diff anyway. In case of GUI change I suggest to send a
minimal screenshot instead (not too big if you want to survive).
My sense, for what it's worth, having used QtDesigner mark 4 a fair bit,
is that there are enough differences between it and the old version that
simply loading a Qt3 file into the designer and saving it can produce
problems. Let alone changing it and then saving it.
AFAIR, all the ui files have been converted to Qt4 format a long time ago.
