Out of interest, how does that compare to using X over an ssh tunnel?

I just tested scrolling with a lyx compiled 31. january 2007,
over an ADSL link. Using the link the "wrong" way, sitting at
work using ssh -CX to the home pc.

Scrolling _performance_, using the page down key or the scrollbar
was fine! The userguide rolled past with nice speed.

I am more troubled with the startup delay (2s before the window
frame appear) and then a 7s delay before the main window
fills in. Help->userguide then takes 4s before the guide appear.
Scrolling speed is fine though.

There is a different problem with scrolling though; it keeps
rolling long after I release "page down" or let go of the mouse.
Now, I am used to "keyboard repeat lag" but no other app keeps
rolling when I release the mouse button over the scrollbar.
They all stop instantly. This is not a ADSL problem, it
happens always. I have not tested newer revisions just to
see if this has improved, but I will.
