Good patch. I can now answer your question.
The numbers do indeed increase after releasing "page up".
I held down page-up until the numbers got to 11. Then
I released it, and the numbers kept climbing all the way to "5c"
while lyx kept scrolling. Then the scrolling ended, and the numbers
stopped updating.
I run with this patch only - do you want a run with your other
patch as well - the one that caused blind scrolling?
Using the scrollbar prints no numbers and is the same problem as always.
