I downloaded the source tarball for qt-4.2.2, configured it with
--prefix=/usr/local --no-stl (because Slackware does not support STL; at
least, it didn't), ran make, and 53 minutes later ran 'make install.'

  In /usr/local/lib/ there are libQt*.so.4.2.2.

When I configure lyx-1.5, I specify --with-frontend=qt4, but it fails:

  Qt 4 Frontend:
      Qt 4 version:
  Packaging: posix
  LyX binary dir: /usr/local/bin
  LyX files dir: /usr/local/share/lyx

**** The following problems have been detected by configure.
**** Please check the messages below before running 'make'.
**** (see the section 'Problems' in the INSTALL file)

** qt 4 library not found !

What have I done wrong? I've not compiled Qt in years.

Thanks,

Rich
