Why collapse it? Footnotes for example are good to collapse because
they do not appear in the main text. But captions? What is the gain?
I think Uwe is worried about the screen space taken by caption in
longtable. If that is so Uwe, I suggest that, in EmbeddedObject.lyx,
instead of putting % ert in the following columns, you just merge the
columns of the first line.
