The easiest way is to try output to PDF (pdflatex).
John, I created a document with inserted and deleted text. Then, I
switched on "show changes in output" and ran pdflatex.
The result looks exactly as expected: All deleted text does _not_ show
up in PDF output. Inserted text is shown as regular text.
What exactly is the problem that you want to address?
