lyx2lyx has support up to the first versions of LyX, so this should not
ever happen. If it happens it is a bug and it should be reported.
I'm not sure you understand José means... I thought he meant opening a LyX
1.5 document using LyX 1.4.2.
This has probably already been said in the thread, but just in case.. I
did get some weird error message about this recently. Uwe had sent a
.lyx-file to the list regarding some vertical spacing issue. Opening that
with LyX 1.4.3 results in the following somewhat confusing message:
.../newfile.lyx is from an earlier version of LyX,
but the lyx2lyx script failed to convert it.
Btw, it's annoying that I can't do copy'n'paste of the error message :-(
Hmm... maybe we could have an online service on lyx.org for converting
more recent .lyx-files to older formats?
