I strongly recommend to replace the default entry of Tools->Preferences->Converters->"LaTeX (plain) -> HTML"->Converter: htlatex $$i by htlatex $$i '' 'symbol/!' because then special characters will be automatically converted into something like unicode, e. g. ä ==> ä This can be interpreted by every internet-browser independent of the used character set (isoxyz, utfxyz, etc.) -- Viele Grüße, Hartmut
