Possibly two clicks, one to position the mouse, the second to set direction. At the moment I have no problems with dots, however big, because LyX is not wysiwyg anyway. Sometimes it is wysipm (what you see is pretty meaningless %;>) But maybe the future holds other promises that the dots would become intrusive in. Garst
