Personnally, I would have welcome a resurrection of qt3, but since I
am not doing to do it myself, I agree with Georg that it is too late
to fix this blunder.

One year for the 1.5 cycle would not be a scandal, and that puts us in
march 2007. I am not saying that we shall do that, but there is no
need to try to get a xmas date (as was proposed elsewhere) if we feel
we cannot do it. In particular if people are willing to do polishing
(like fix new bugs and look at bugs that are targeted to 1.5.0 or
1.4.x).

There is also the problem of the next 1.4 release. Some stuff needs to
be fixed before 1.4.4, but depending on 1.5 timing, it is not clear
yet whether it should be the last one. I think there will be time for
a 1.4.5 that implements necessary lyx2lyx support.

While I talk about lyx2lyx, I saw recently that there is no code to
revert the Box support of 1.4 in 1.3 format. Is that intentional?
