Uninstalling and reinstalling Aspell (in C:\Aspell) and reconfiguring
LyX did no good. The US dictionaries are installed (in
C:\Aspell\lib\aspell-0.60\). Any ideas why LyX thinks they're not
present?
aspelldata-0.60.4-root.exe is not intended to be used with LyX
1.4.2/1.4.3. You should not install it. The Windows installer will setup
everything automatically, including Aspell.
For LyX 1.3.7 and 1.4.1, keep your old Aspell installation in C:\Aspell.
Joost,
1.4.1 required adding some Aspell 0.60 files to the Aspell 0.50
installation that 1.3.7 was using. I think those files are what is in
aspelldata-0.60.4-root.exe, although I can't swear to this. At any
rate, when I installed 1.4.2 in parallel to 1.4.1 (without making any
changes to my C:\Aspell setup), the spell checker did not work in 1.4.2
(and does not work in 1.4.3), so apparently the installer either failed
to set something up or ran into a conflict with what I already had.
When I ran aspelldata-0.60.4-root.exe after the 1.4.3 installation, I
thought I was reinstalling what I already had from the 1.4.1 days (in
the forlorn hope that it would refresh a registry entry or something).
What all does the 1.4.2/1.4.3 install (and where) to enable Aspell support?
Thanks,
Paul
