The big question is probably: is it true? 1/ we would like czech documents written in LyX to be readable under linux. Is it the case right now? What encoding is used when writing new documents? 2/ codepage 1250 is what is used for windows text files, which are not so interesting for us. If we manage to make it work with latin2, this is fine. 3/ currently, LyX sets the Qt text codec according to the languages file (see QLyXKeySym::initEncoding). This means that we use latin2 for czech. Therefore setting OUTPUT_CHARSET to iso8859-2 should be correct. I may have gotten some things wrong. Comments welcome. JMarc
