Yes, you have a native Win32 version of pplatex.exe in your PATH. Move it out of the way or use a cygwin version.
I have uninstalled miktex (which was installed with my win32/lyx) and platex no longer exists. The problem persists. Can anyone try lyx with the latest cygwin tetex? Bo
