Without the patch footnotes in a table inside a float do not appear. With the patch they do appear if there is at least one table not in a float, but they might appear on a different page than the float. In both cases footnotes in a table in a float are not supported. What happens if you nevertheless insert them changes. Footnotes cannot be directly inserted in a float. If possible we should disable them also in a table in a float, but I suspect that that would become ugly. Georg
