I think this is the situation we had with 1.1.2 anyway, so one can say
that this patch actually works :) If I remember correctly, in 1.1.4
neither relative nor absolute path were satisfying. Note that you can
set "\use_tempdir false" in your .lyx/lyxrc to make relative path work
(I think).
I'll commit the change to cvs and 1.1.4fix2, then. We need a better
one... Maybe automatically outputing the absolute path when generating
the latex file in /tmp/...
