  I have discussed this before, but on minor level. Certainly nothing

   What are the real benefits against our present format?
   The present format is far from perfect but is here and works.

issues that take time.

  What would you expect from such creature? ;)
  But I see you point, look in the code for the docbook support. There are
few things hardcoded, but most of the scheme could apply immediatelly to
a general xml editor.

  Without preaching to the choir ;) I would say IMO that the feeling is "show
us the code and we will talk about it."

  I'm also interested in a such an editor, and LyX takes some of the ideas
of it, but this takes time and work and any help is welcome.
