Unfortunatley, it is not obvious to know how to enforce that... We
hope to be able to use real verbatim for such code later, but for now
we use plain typewriter font. And it seems the various french modes
are not clever enough to switch off their automatic handling in
typewriter font.

However, it is possible to have a better solution with some french
modes. Which mode do you use?
