Hi Jean-Marc,
thanks for your assistance.

Yes, I mention to be careful in the docs. I suspect there is no binding
that is available for all keymapas! I will look again the docs to see
whether there is any ambiguity.

oops... I'll be more careful next time.

Ok, let me know if you need a standalone LyXServer.lyx, then.

Well, LyX::Client needs a running LyX to communicate with, so if for
"batch" you intend invoking LyX without opening the application's window
I think LyX can't do that (correct me...). However if a LyX is running the
user might type:
> lyx2ps myfile.lyx
and get a ps file without LyX blocking. This will need the file to load
(and display) inside LyX first, I suppose, so that wouldn't really be
seamless for the user.
But, if by "batch" you mean just that the operation shouldn't block during
latex runs, dvi font generation and so on, then it might not be so
difficult to write. I'll think about it. It will also a good way to test
LyX::Client for me, so I'll probably do it.
BTW, is there a LyX function available to display something in the
minibuffer. I think that would be a good way for clients to report info to
the user. If it doesn't exist, would a patch from me be considered?
Cheers,
Stefano
