If I have \use_tempdir false, then lyx uses . for creating its temporary
files. I recently realized that if I relyx a.tex, and then edit a.lyx with
use_tempdir false, then a.tex will be overwritten. I wrote "bug report?" with
the question mark because I'm not sure there's anything we can do about it.
After all, you can't say "don't overwrite a.tex" because LyX always overwrites
its temporary .tex files. I guess the best thing I can think of is this: when
you open foo.lyx, then if use_tempdir is false and foo.tex exists, then popup
a warning that foo.tex will be overwritten.
Worth doing? Again, I'm concerned about cases where a person gets a .tex doc
from someone, then wants to import it into lyx and edit it & stuff. But it
seems a bit dangerous to get rid of the original, no? Of course, the reLyX
docs say to keep a copy elsewhere, but who reads docs?
