Hi LyX-team!

Congratulations to version 1.0.0! Now you are getting somewhere!
What I like best is the possibility to import and export .tex files.

I have however encountered some bugs when importing .tex files:

1. Labels are changing:
1.1 \psfrag{x_1}{$x_1$} is changed to \psfrag{x_{1}}{...} by LyX
and it does not work.
1.2 \includegraphics[width=9cm]{my_file.eps} is changed to
\includegraphics[width=9cm]{my_{f}ile.eps} which can not be found.
1.3 Same with equation labels.
\label{eq:my_equation} -> \label{eq:my_{e}quation}.
However the \ref{eq:my_equation} does not change and the cross
reference does not work

2. Long equations are not handled properly. The following \split
example does not work:

\begin{equation}
  \label{eq:mu}
  \begin{split}
    \mu_l &= \frac{E[y_lh_l^{*}]}{\sqrt{E[|y_l|^2]E[|h_l|^2]}} \\
    &= c_l\frac{2\sigma_a^2}{\sqrt{(|c_l|^2 2\sigma_a^2+2\sigma_n^2)(2\sigma_a^2+
2\sigma_m^2)}} \\
    &= |\mu|e^{-j\epsilon_l}.
  \end{split}
\end{equation}

LyX says something like:
Line ~596: Math parse error: Unrecognized environment
Line ~597: Math parse error: Unexpected tab
Line ~598: Math parse error: Unexpected tab
Line ~599: Math parse error: Unexpected tab
Line ~600: Math parse error: Unmatched environment
LyX: Unknown token `\end{equation}'. Inserting as text. [around line 602 of file
~/forskning/turbo/vtc_spring_99.lyx]

The result is an unsplitted equation and that the text \end{equation}
is inserted in the LyX file.

3. Including graphics causes an error. I don't know why but the following
does not work:

\begin{figure}[tbh]
  \begin{center}
    \includegraphics[width=9cm]{figures/new_vs_old_metric.eps}
    \caption{Simulated BER performance when using the new metric (solid) versus
      the metric in (\ref{eq:lc_3}) (dashed) for
      $\sigma_m^2=0,0.1,0.2,0.4$. Also shown is the performance with
      perfect channel estimates (dash-dotted), $N=420$, 8 iterations.}
    \label{fig:new_vs_old_metric}
  \end{center}
\end{figure}

Everything looks fine but when I run update-dvi I get an error message.
If I create a new figure-float in LyX and copy everything into the
new figure-floate and remove the old one, then it works just fine.

These are the errors that I have encountered so far. I do beleive that once
LyX 1.0.0 is debugged properly it will be a killer application.
Finaly, congratulations again and keep up the good work!

Your dedicated fan

Pal Frenger
