Unfortunately, I do not have a good solution to this problem. This
might change in 1.1.

A better solution would be to have a GUIName for each layout, which
defaults to the real name. This GUIName would be shown in the combox.

In 1.1.x, there is some gettext support for layout files which has
been added.
