I just use aliases for this. You can set up multiple aliases for different useragents using the '-useragent="whatever"' option, so you can select whatever useragent you want by using the appropriate alias when you start lynx. -- My e-mail uses a whitelist and tags. If I've recently sent you e-mail, you're on a temporary whitelist. If you're not on my whitelist, your mail will bounce unless you use a tag (appended to the username, like unicorn+<tag>, where <tag> is a string of characters I've authorized).
