However, this is quite different from my experience. Just to casually confirm that, I fully charged both my Pinephone Pro and my Librem-5 last night. This afternoon, 19 hours later, the Librem-5 had shut down from low battery, the Pinephone Pro was still at 59% charge. Both were sitting idle, with wifi on, bluetooth off, auto-suspend on, and normal screen blanking. Both had their cellular modems on, though only the Librem-5 had a SIM, so that could well have had more hand-shaking cellular-radio transmissions. Both have original batteries (which may have deteriorated somewhat). The Pinephone Pro I got in March 2022; the Librem-5 in November the same year. I know that the above is far from a systematic test. Still, that has been my experience all along, in everyday use, much better battery run time with the Pinephone Pro than with the Librem-5. (In fact initially the Librem-5 was even worse, not able to last overnight, before Purism got suspend working.) Maybe the difference is from individual variations in devices and settings, and from differences in battery aging. If anything, the Librem-5 battery should be in somewhat better shape. At the time I bought it, I also ordered two spare batteries from Purism. (I guess Purism was less fussy about shipping batteries back then.) I haven't done anything special, like refrigerate the idle batteries, but I have rotated them through use every few months, meaning that each battery has had less time in use in a sometimes warm environment. Also, I haven't encountered any problems with charging my Pinephone Pro — well, no problems that couldn't be attributed to the charger. Admittedly, I've mostly used Pine64 chargers, so maybe they especially like each other. I guess the take-away is that these characteristics can be difficult to evaluate. But at least you've made a solid and valuable comparison, and I thank you for that. The comparison with Pinephone Pro is perhaps moot, since Pine64 suspended making them in August last year, citing insufficient sales.
