It's disappointing that Linux Australia's primary volunteers didn't
consider your proposal more thoughtfully, isn't it?

There are two individuals I know, both adults, who are going through
cancer treatment that suppresses their immune systems. Those
individuals are still obliged to stay home almost entirely, and when I
interact with their respective spouses, it is top-most in my mind that
our interactions could cause accidental tragic loss.

The risks are fading at a gratifying clip here in the San Francisco Bay
Area. (See 'nowcast' link on https://calcat.covid19.ca.gov/ for the
California good news including my home county, San Mateo County.) Also,
it's expected that U.S. Food and Drug Administration will grant an
Emergency Use Authorization inside a fortnight for giving the Pfizer
jab to children age 5-12, which should also help immensely.

My best wishes to Vic., for smoother sailing, too.

Locally, I've worked out how to meaningfully, positively vet proof
of full vaccination I'm requiring for in-person (outdoor) LUG events.
I note tht Vic. participtes in the Services Australia methods for
showing such proof;

California implements a similar system (alongside the very common
and, regrettably, sometimes forged paper 'vaccination card' from Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention = CDC).
