Hello Andrew, Perhaps configure them in /etc/fstab?ben Hi Ben, I am not sure that the /etc/fstab file is even being addressed. Normally when I boot, an early event is the recognition of my SCSI scanner, but the process is not getting that far. What if I made a "hot" connection (similar to plugging in a USB drive or an SD Card? Would the hardware detection device pick them up and write to the fstab? What if I connected them one at a time? Some how this message ended up in drafts. I tried a "hot" plugin but nothing has been written to fstab And I cannot address either drive. the fstab has very little info, several years ago in RPM land fstab was written to by HAL and was comprehensive. Still wondering whether I just should back up my current drive to a USB hard disk , then plug in my new drives and do a server install of ubuntu. Andrew |
