I have a stub VM and a diskless kiosk running it, both jessie.
Neither exploded, but the kiosk booted slower and I saw no real benefit.

journalctl works mostly like logread except for its odious affection for
underscores, and this [0], though I haven't run into it myself yet.

It has some wanky regexps to make "important" lines in bold or color,
except they didn't work very well because I saw at least one printk that
had been split in half, and half that printk was considered an
"important" line by the pattern matching.
