Hi folks! Returning to the list after 5y away. :-) I just updated Lubuntu on my RasPi 3 from 15.10 to 16.04. Mostly it has gone very smoothly, and glxgears performance has gone from ~20fps to ~90fps, a very gratifying increase.
When I ran rpi-update on 15.10, I got kernel 4.4. This survived the update to 16.04. However, then, when I ran ``apt-get dist-upgrade'', it went back down again, to kernel 4.1. I'd like to switch back to the newer kernel, but I can't find instructions how. The RasPi is an ARM device, without a BIOS or UEFI, and the GPU boots the system. There's no conventional bootloader and I can't get u-boot to install correctly, so it's not just a matter of changing GRUB -- there is no GRUB. Does anyone have any ideas or pointers, please? -- Liam Proven • Profile: http://lproven.livejournal.com/profile Email: lpro...@cix.co.uk • GMail/G+/Twitter/Flickr/Facebook: lproven MSN: lpro...@hotmail.com • Skype/AIM/Yahoo/LinkedIn: liamproven Cell/Mobiles: +44 7939-087884 (UK) • +420 702 829 053 (ČR) -- Lubuntu-users mailing list Lubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/lubuntu-users
