Interesting. This workaround seems to solve the issue I have with xserver-xorg-video-intel and newer kernels (3.7.0+) were screen goes blank and system hangs. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1186800 I'll test it a little more then I'll update the bug report with this solution.
