According to Adam Conrad (infinity), the problems we've been having with packages should be resolved shortly. I guess we have moved from tasks to metapackages. Since tasks are not packages in apt, it makes since why this would create problems. Sounds like we won't have to worry much about it. Thanks everyone for all the help!
