I've just tested on a saucy fresh installation and the patch worked fine.

A fixed package will be available in https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-
dev/+archive/staging

The fix is based on the script Jarno Suni submitted. It re-install
xscreensaver by default, but only start it when you launch lxlock. It
also removes the lightdm method for locking the screen. Please test it
and report back if it's working for you.
