Using Lubuntu Blog is SUPER easy and at least, anyone can do it. It is
piece of cake. I know because I have many blogs - example:
http://amjjawad.blogspot.com and http://ali-bethechange.blogspot.com

Ubuntu GNOME and Peppermint are using WordPress and I have access to both
from day 1 (didn't have to wait 2 years :P)

Rafael is already posting on the blog but if we decided to use the blog is
Lubuntu Main Website or to replace the website that we have no control over
nor can update anything on it, then I guess more people need to be
involved. The Setup of the blog is perfect and s beautiful, it just needs
more contributors.

I see no reason to hold us back as long as the website issue has been alive
for 2 years and God knows how many more years it will remain like that :)
